Coaches and Directors
Jimmy Adams has been training divers for over 25 years. Prior to his arrival back "Home" here in Colorado Springs with Thunderbird Diving, he was the owner and Head Coach for Riverside Elite Diving (2018 - 2022), Turn N Burn Diving (Riverside, CA. 2003 - 2018), and was the Assistant Coach for American Flyers Diving (Aurora, Ohio from 1996 - 2003). Jimmy spent 18 years at Riverside City College, 10 years at Claremont McKenna College and most recently a 5 year run with the University of Redlands. Jimmy is currently the Coach for both Cheyenne Mountain and Liberty High School.
Prior to this, Adams enjoyed an exceptional athletic career of his own in diving. He is the 1989 Colorado State High School Diving Champion, and has traveled extensively as a professional show/high diver under the employ of Sea World (San Diego & Ohio), Six Flags (Jackson, New Jersey), and Cedar Point (Sandusky, Ohio) to name a few. Jimmy proudly represented Team USA in the 2003 Acapulco Cliff Diving Championships and captured a Silver Medal with teammates Todd Michael & Jason Carlton.
All this experience means Coach Jimmy has developed an exceptional ability to understand the mind of the young diver and coach them toward their goals. Coach Jimmy has designed all practices geared toward helping each diver achieve success based on their skill level.
When not at the pool, Coach Jimmy can be found spending time with his wife Stacy, daughter Delilah and son Zack, in addition playing Fantasy Football and rooting for his Denver Broncos.
